Is The War in Afghanistan Really A War By Definition?
Many ask; how can we win the war in Afghanistan? Some military advisors say we need more troops to cover that large area, and without them, the insurgents just keep moving around and hiding out, until we move again. Further, most agree that once we do leave, all the insurgents in Pakistan will come fill in the vacuum, and as we leave so too will all that money inflow we brought into those economies, villages, towns, and cities there.
Don’t Forget Afghanistan Is a Land-Locked Country Making US Involvement CostlyMany contend that we must “win the hearts and minds of the Afghan people” or we will never be respected in the Middle East or trusted in the future. They say that if we don’t get this right, it will have massive unintended consequences down the road. Okay so, perhaps so, but still realize that the whole “winning hearts and minds” motif has been a disaster so far and look how much it has cost us, we don’t need any more trillion dollar wars, or whatever you call that exercise.
How About CVID For Nuclear Weapon Seeking Iran – Complete, Verify, DismantlementMost people don’t know much about CVID but I imagine they will the future, based on what’s happening in Iran. It’s obvious it’s time to lay down the gauntlet when it comes to rogue nations like North Korea and Iran and their nuclear weapons program, the ones they deny exist, yet they continually work to upgrade with new modernized centrifuge enriching equipment. Now then, let’s discuss this.
If China is So Great Why Do All the Wealthy People Who Know Better Want to Leave?Indeed, I am amazed at the number of people who say that the United States is no longer the greatest nation in the history of mankind. Many are beginning to say China is now number one. Not only am I confused because they are wrong, and I know for a fact that we are the top nation, but, I also know some facts that they probably don’t.
Forget Arms Control Agreements With Rogue Nations – They Never Work in the EndAs the coordinator for a think tank there are things that I would like to see happen in the world for the betterment of all mankind and the forward progress of species. Some are pipe dreams, some are possible, and some are probable. As a news junkie, because I must stay up on the current events in the geopolitical spectrum, I see some challenges on the horizon.
Don’t Count Your Egyptian Chickens Before They Hatch! It was amazing how many people tried to put a positive spin on the chaos in Egypt during the Arab Spring. What many people don’t realize is that not only was Egypt’s government taken out of power, but their entire economy was trashed. They were actually starting to develop a middle class, and provide jobs, as too many of the people who were quite poor that nation and they still are.
Syria Is Seriously Not Serving Their CitizensWhat the heck is going on in Syria, how can something labeled the Arab Spring become a perennial protest and chaos driven civil war? The number of people who have been killed in Syria is a scary proposition. And unfortunately the bloodshed isn’t over despite the promises of the Assad government in Syria.
Who Says Iran’s Nuclear Program Is Only Peaceful?“Peaceful my rear end,” was the comment I heard from the retiring general in the US military as he gave a speech and answered questions about the Iranian nuclear weapons program. Very few political analysts, geopolitical gurus, military men, State Department employees, or foreign nations are fooled by the Iranian regimes trickery, tactics, or half-truths during negotiation on this issue. Okay, so let’s talk about this for a moment shall we?
India Border Incursions From Chinese Army – That’s Going to Be a ChallengeMany would content that China has only good intentions as it grows economically and moves forward. In fact, a recent RAND Report claims that “China’s International Behavior” is purely peaceful and it is merely going about its business attempting to garner the resources it needs to keep growing its economy and bring its nation up to its full potential. Others content that this is not exactly so and point to the rather bold military buildup in China.
Are Political Changes Coming to Venezuela – If So, They Can’t Happen Fast EnoughGenerally speaking when a socialist leader of a large nation moves a free-market economy into that looking more like socialist theory, they have already turned towards a cliff and must continually pick up the speed to keep it going. There’s only one problem with that, we all know what happens when you drive a nation off a cliff. Okay so, let’s talk a little bit about Venezuela if we might.
